The Bolton Wanderers Football Club International Soccer School's Year Long Football Studies Programme has now moved to Lostock the home of the Eddie Davies Academy. This facility is where the best of BWFC young talent is nurtured and developed with the goal of one day producing players to move into the first team!
The training facility is state of the art and is where the Bolton Wanderers Academy is based, it has numerous full size grass pitches and several smaller grass pitches as well as the latest artificial full size turf pitch plus gym, power and conditioning room, physio room, offices, changing rooms and many other great facilities.
The move has come about due to the clubs continued support for the BWFCISS and the programs we deliver not only in the UK but worldwide. Dave Bailey the BWFCISS Manger said;
"This is a real positive move for the program and its continuing development, we are always looking to progress and move forward, this is certainly the next step. Moving to the Academy at Lostock with all it offers will be a real asset for the future of this unique program. The players development will continue and I am sure will be enhanced by been able to use these state of the art facility here at BWFC. The players are so excited and can’t wait to get settled and begin training, saying that neither can the coaches!"
The players were shown round the Academy by Dave, Richard the Head Groundsman and Gareth (Groundsman) setting the rules out. The players could not believe just how good these facilities are and the excitement was clear for all to see, Hayden Turner on of the students commented;
" I am really excited that the club has given us the opportunity to train on some truly world class facilities. I am excited to get started and hope to help create a great football foundation here thank you."
Lostock opened its doors 3 years ago and has long been regard as one of the best playing surfaces in the professional game at player development level, the facility cost in the region of 10 million pounds and was opened by Eddie Davies himself the owner of BWFC.
