The Bolton Wanderers Football Club International Soccer School recently visited Langley United Soccer Club in Vancouver, Canada.

This is the first year that the BWFCISS have visited Vancouver with ISS Coach Mick White taking the sessions with the boys U12 team assisted by Langley Coach Gary Reid. Although the weather was poor with over 50cm of snow, a few phone calls were made to make the training possible. The training facilities at the club were excellent and allowed the players to show off their passing and control skills. Mick also had the opportunity to watch the players in league games and also observe the U16 and U18 teams.

Mick felt the U12 group was full of players with great enthusiasm and they all showed a great attitude with some of them having the opportunity to come to England in March 2011 to play and train as part of the relationship building between the clubs. Mick was also escorted around the Vancouver area for some sight seeing which included the impressive Stanley Park.

On speaking with Mick on his return he commented;

"I was delighted to have to opportunity to visit Langley United last month on behalf of BWFCISS. The whole trip, apart from the weather was fantastic, Mark and his staff are working hard to take the whole club in the right direction. I am sure that the U12 team's visit in March 2011 to Bolton will be very successful and help to build the relationship between both clubs. Langley United are determined to teach and prepare their players for the rigours of English Premier League Academies and hope to have players successfully trialed within the next couple of years."

BWFCISS would like to thank all who are involved with this very successful partnership and especially Gary Parker and club president Betty Bouchas who tirelessly works behind the scenes for the club.
