What a busy Summer we have had at the Bolton Wanderers Football Club International Soccer School. We have been in Canada to Calgary, Ontario and British Columbia, in the USA to Florida, Illinois, Chicago and Detroit and then to Seoul in South Korea.
The trip to one of our partner clubs Bolton Wanderers Soccer Club (BWSC) of Bolton, Ontario was one of great excitement as they had 5 coaches over for a two week camp with over 200 participating boys and girls but on top of that the BWFC First Team were there in the last stage of their North America Tour which would conclude with a game against Toronto FC. The camp itself was a massive success and the feedback was fantastic from all involved as participants, parents and coaches all said how well it had gone. The camp started with the boys in the first week and the girls in the second, fortunately the weather was kind throughout the weeks as it was not too hot.
The theme for the summer at all our camps was based on two seconds contact on the ball and two touches, this involved a lot of passing, possession and receiving sessions which added great tempo to the games. In the games/tournaments which were played towards the end of the camps we had a one touch finish rule as a large percentage of goals are coming from one touch finish so this was introduced to see how the participants would cope. The coaches at the BWSC camp were a little unsure at first but as the week went on the players adapted very well, the first priority was to affect the attitude of the players and get the right environment (no fear of failure mentality).
Below is a couple of pictures from various camps...
Bolton Wanderers Soccer Club - Bolton, Canada
G1 Sports - Seoul, South Korea
Midwest Soccer Academy - USA
The camps were very rewarding for all and I feel each Person involved took away something new for certain and in such a short time I really feel each player improved which is a big statement but you could see it.
