The BWFC International Soccer School recently visited Iceland the homeland of our very own Gretar Steinsson to deliver a 5 day programme at the Gretar Steinsson Soccer School.
This is the third year that the BWFCISS have visited Iceland with Gretar and his Soccer School, which again was a very busy camp with over 100 kids boys and girls aged from 9-16 taking part. Unfortunatly this time round Gretar himself could not attend after undergoing surgery on his knee in preperation for the 2010/11 season and due to the birth of his baby girl of which all at BWFCISS would like to congratulate Gretar and his family! Due to his absense from the camp Gretar sent a speacial DVD message to the boys and girls wishing them good luck and sending his apologies.
BWFCISS Coaches were again well looked after by Gretar's Mum, Dad and all those behind the Soccer School, they enjoyed the camp as well as fishing and horseback riding. One of our visiting coaches was our own BWFC Legend and Fans Liaison Officer Tony Kelly who said;
“This was one of the greatest experiences of my life, found it quite emotional at times as the kids were great”.
The camp itself was full of kids with great enthusiasm they all showed a great attitude with some of them having the opportunity to come to England later this year to compete in the Grand Skills Final.
BWFCISS would like to thank all who are involved with this very successful partnership and especially Gulli Stebbi who tirelessly works behind the scenes for Gretar and his Soccer School Programme.
Below is a video slideshow that was put together by Mick White one of the ISS Coaches who attended the camp, please take a few minutes to enjoy the clip....
