Dave Bailey Visits Bolton Wanderers Soccer Club

Dave Bailey (International Soccer School Manager) went on a fact finding mission to Bolton Wanderers Soccer Club (BWSC) based in Toronto, Canada early February and what he found was a well equipped club ready to move its self forward. The BWSC club has very good enthusiastic staff and great support networks these people are really in this game for the right reason, the development of players. The players were very good in certain areas but lacked in others like most. Dave said “the first thing we always look for in a young player any age any ability is ATTITUDE and the boys and girls had it right, they were all very positive and their desire to learn was very good. They were challenging asking questions, wanting to know and learn more and more all the time. The confidence and social skills were terrific which is part of the game when looking at playing personality. Overall I would say they tick so many of the right boxes we are really looking forward developing this link”.

Bolton Wanderers Soccer Club will be hosting an International Talent ID Program for two weeks in the summer with 100 kids on each week, 1st week will be boys and the 2nd week girls. Dave will then be back out in September to see how the initiatives he outlined have been implemented and how they are going. This looks to be the beginning of a long term partnership and we see BWSC as a very exciting club to be involved with. Dave also has some input into the new training faculties they are building and these should be ready for the summer complete with new club house which will feature coaches room, gym, kitchen, classrooms and game analysis access which all sounds and looks fantastic.

Dave is featured with two of the players and Billy McKenna the head coach of BWSC.

Whilst in Toronto Dave also did some press interviews with papers and also featured on the Ontario Soccer Association website a first for BWFC, he was even invited to go on the local radio station. On behalf of Bolton Wanderers Football Club he also presented a signed shirt from our first team which happened to be one of the first from the new look squad.
