On the weekend of the 21st and 22nd May the Bolton Wanderers International Soccer School hosted the BWFCISS Cup 2011 with partners Sports Travel International at
the Bolton Arena.
The tournament consisted of six different age categories from U9's to U14's with a total of 38 teams competing from across the UK. The weekend started early the Saturday morning with teams meeting staff and coaches from the International Soccer School at the Reebok Stadium for a Reebok Stadium Tour where they were also greeted by Bolton Wanderers Mascot Lofty the Lion.
After Lunch it was time for the tournament to kick off with games taking place through till 6pm and continuing at 10am the following day. Once each team had played each other twice in each category the top two placed teams competed in a final to name the overall winner. Once each final had taken place Presentation of trophies for the Winners and Runners Up took place on the Arena MUGA pitch before the Winners were taken pitch side pre match at the Bolton Wanderers vs Manchester City game, they then joined the other teams in the stand to watch the final match of the 2010/11 Premier League Season.
Throughout the weekend the teams also had the option of being coached by the Bolton Wanderers International Soccer School Coaches for a short session lasting only an hour and staying overnight at either Wanderers own hotel the De Vere Whites or the Premier Inn.
Overall the weekend was a great success and hopefully enjoyed by all who attended, we look forward to hosting the event again next year!
