The International Soccer School ran its first International Programme in New Delhi, India, with two coaches flying out for a four day camp at the end of last month (March). Dave Bailey, BWFCISS Manager, went out with International Development Coach Shaun Couch. The camp was based at the Shri Ram International School where they had a fantastic time and welcomed throughout their stay. As a thank you, Dave presented them with a signed shirt from the Wanderers First Team Squad. Over the 4 days a total of 40 kids attended the camp on which for the first camp to be full was very pleasing for both BWFCISS and Pro Golf Marketing who organsied the event.

Dave Bailey said “It was a goal of mine when I took over the managers role with the International Soccer School to run an International Programme in India and to get this so soon has been very exciting. The market out there is huge. The enthusiasm amongst their players, coaches etc made the coaching and our time there very easy. The players themselves were of mixed ability; one or two with exceptional qualities which I did not expect.“

On the camp the coaches saw two boys who are in the National Pool, one boy was due on trial with Anderlecht. During the camp, coaches looked at the participants athletic ability and also covered a DVD session on expectations of players here as opposed to over there which appeared to motivate the group to work hard throghout the 4 days. At the end of the camp, several boys were picked out and given the opportunity to come and take part in our Grand Skills Final later this year at the Reebok Stadium. This will be the third event of its kind we have held.

BWFCISS will be looking to go out again to India in the Summer where we will be running a Residential Boarding Camp targeting participants to come and join the Football Studies Programme that we offer here in the UK.

Dave would like to thank Faisal from Pro Golf Marketing for organsing the camp and doing a great job in hosting both himself and Shaun.
