The squad travelled to their first Away and Target game of the season, in which we anticipated a difficult match against one of the best university sides in the UK. All week they had been working hard on the training pitch and on a specific game plan to take to Loughborough. The squad had been excellent and were all fully prepared.
For the fist 15 minutes the players matched Loughborough all over the pitch and eventually started to build a rhythm. They started to get on top and really took the game to Loughborough, who couldn’t cope with the pace in which BWFCISS countered.
A great flick in after 30 minutes was well anticipated by Christian Cantero , who showed great acceleration to get passed his man and calmly slot the ball in the back of the net. A great goal!
On the stroke of half time BWFCISS doubled the advantage with a 35yrd screamer from Thomas Schimpano, which clipped the under side of the bar and in.
Half Time Loughborough 0 BWFCISS 2
In the second 45 it was crucial not to concede in the 1st 15mins, as the squad new Loughborough would throw everything at us. The team showed great discipline in shape and composure at the back.
On the 65th minute BWFCISS again broke through on the counter attack as Changhyeon Choi scored.
In the last 10 minutes Loughborough threw everything at BWFCISS but the defensive line were outstanding.
Final Whistle Loughborough 0 BWFCISS 3
A superb performance and result from the squad, everyone in a Bolton shirt played a big part in the win. A great start to the season and a real platform for the team to move on from.
