Bolton
Bolton is located 20 miles from the City of Manchester. Bolton's social history has roots back to 1251, with an industrial history commencing in 1837. Bolton is linked with the cotton industry which was a commercial powerhouse of the industrial revolution.
Today it's a major town with diverse industries; it is twined with Le Mans, France and Paderborn, Germany. Bolton has a large and busy commercial centre surrounded by beautiful countryside and country parks.
The locals are understandably proud of the Barclays Premier League Football Club, Bolton Wanderers, based at the Reebok Stadium next to the wonderful sports facilities provided by the Bolton Arena.
Bolton Arena
A magnificent 14.3 million pound Sports and Leisure Complex sited in the Middlebrook Leisure and Retail Park, Bolton Arena opened to the public in April 2001.
Since it's opening not only has the Arena demonstrated to the world it can host international events of the highest calibre by staging the Badminton competition of the 2002 Commonwealth Games but it has become a major sporting facility for the local community.
The Reebok Stadium
The Reebok Stadium is the home of Bolton Wanderers, it is a purpose built stadium which was opened in 1997 and is widely regarded as one of the most iconic stadiums in the UK. It is one of the best examples of the new breed of stadium built in the UK since the mid 1990s.
The Reebok Stadium is more than just a football stadium in that it is a multi-purpose facility which includes a 125 bedroom hotel integrated into it's South Stand. The Reebok Stadium is also home to offices of local businesses with the North Stand housing 3 office floors.
Lostock Academy Training Ground
This is a state of the art facility opened two years ago to help to develop the players of the future for Bolton Wanderers.
The International Soccer School students have regular access to this training facility to improve their footballing skills and techniques. The facility is located near to the Reebok Stadium and therefore provides a valuable and convenient resource for our overseas students.
